A Cloudy Day in Vila Real de Santo António

We had to visit the local Câmera in Vila Real de Santo António to sort out some paperwork for one of our clients yesterday. I snapped this on my iPhone and thought it captured the general feel of the day.

For the Algarve, when the sun starts to go down, it is unusually cold at the moment. True we do get some cold days and nights here in the Algarve, but there is a cold wind blowing at the moment and we are not used to it.

For a region that has over 300 days of sunshine per year, when it gets cloudy and cold, everyone just wants to hibernate with a glass of wine or a Portuguese brandy. Having lived here for fifteen years now, I have to agree with the locals!

Cheers.
