Quinta do Sobral

Quinta do Sobral is ideally situated between the town of Castro Marim, and the luxury beach resort of Praia Verde, in the glorious Eastern Algarve. It is made up of large detached villas, and is one of the few areas until you reach Tavira, that offers such a wide variety of holiday accommodation. Surrounded by open fields, Quinta do Sobral is close enough to all the local attractions and all the amenities, but just far enough away to avoid the summer crowds.

As you can see from the video, Quinta do Sobral is very close to the natural reserve and salt marshes of Castro Marim, which are both well worth a visit. It is also very close to the bridge which stretches over the river and across to Spain.  

In our view, the Eastern Algarve is the best part of the Algarve. Unlike in the West, the beach between Vila Real de Santo António and Caçela Velha is flat and continuous, so there is always plenty of space.  Obviously keeping a distance is increasingly important in the current situation, so the expansive beach allows everyone to enjoy their holiday without feeling crowded or being on top of each other. The beaches in the Eastern Algarve are generally easily accessible, and are mostly fairly flat, unlike the Western areas such as Praia da Rocha and Carvoeiro.

Nearby is the Ria Formosa, a nature reserve stretching 67 kilometres along the coast to Faro. Caçela Velha is always a popular with visiting with tourists, as well as Fabrica beach with are only 15 minutes away.

Quinta do Sobral is also within 5 to 15 min. drive of several top golf courses: Castro Marim Golf, Quinta da Ria, Benamor, Quinta de Cima, the new Monte Rei course designed by Jack Nicklaus and Quinta do Vale designed by Seve Ballesteros.
